Afrikaan Strip-tease
During the shooting of a film in South Africa, actress Anny Romand had to commute two hours daily to the set in Johannesburg and back. During these four months, she had some fifteen drivers, rarely the same one from day to day: one morning, to kill boredom, she decided to film them. In time, the chauffeurs begin to open up and talk to her: about violence, about women. One evening, after the wrap, the technicians offered their director a birthday present: a strip-tease by a young, white South African woman. The film interweaves the woman's voluptuous dance and the chauffeurs' confessions. Their stories unfold as clothes drop away - like the woman, souls are stripped bare. But which is the more immodest of the two acts?
