The first 50 years of the French cinema and its friendly enemy, the American cinema, from the research of Etienne-Jules Marey to the movies of World War II. This series, entirely made up of archival footage and scenes from films, is interwoven with the ongoing correspondence of a young American woman and a young Frenchman who meet at the 1890 World’s Fair and grow older as the series progresses.
