Viviane finds it increasingly hard to put up with her mother-in-law, who is always criticizing the way her granddaughter, Edith, is dressed and forever demanding respect for tradition. One day, the old woman takes the child to the village in Koffi’s taxi, anxious to arrive in time for a major initiation ceremony that only is held every two years. When he later boasts to his friend, Baba Woulou, of the important service he’s paid the old woman, the fetish-priest realizes he was accomplice to a crime : the grandmother was taking the child for an excision. The fetish-priest and the taximan rush over to Edith’s parents. Meanwhile, the mother, Viviane, has learned that his husband knew about the old woman’s plans, but didn’t try to stop it. She has her husband summonsed by the police.
