On November 9, 1996,
Michel Mitrani left us.
Without him, the Fipa
would never have existed.
It goes on. Michel Mitrani
is still behind it. The festival's board of directors decided to honor his memory by creating the Prix Michel Mitrani, which distinguishes each year a first, second or third French work, in any genre (drama, series and serials, creative documentaries, reportage and current affairs, performing arts, shorts, aspects of French production), for its spirit of resistance, individual style or innovative approach.
