"As far as I'm concerned, film music now seems far from my preoccupations and that, maybe wrongly, I've lost my faith in it. But my friend Antoine still has his. He's probably right and I remain flabbergasted by his capacity for work. Bing a slow worker myself, I have always watched him continue to produce page after orchestral page and all meticulously written -there's not a sixteenth rest missing. Are those pangs of jealousy I'm feeling, and recognizing belatedly, deep inside me ? Or aren't they, rather, feelings of admiration?"
